    We are seeking a detailed and self-motivated professional to join our Verona office as a Mortgage/Retail Closing Specialist!  This position is responsible for preparing closing packages for all types of mortgage and retail loans, verifying the accuracy/completion of closing documents after closed and ensuring loans are ready for disbursing.



    • Prepare and review retail loan closing documents including HELOC’s, second mortgages and consumer loans.
    • Upload retail loans from origination system to core processing system.
    • Prepare and process retail loan modifications, deferral agreements, subordinations and satisfactions
    • Disburse all HELOC, second mortgages and consumer loans
    • Process and track for collateral lien perfections
    • Enter HMDA data into the HMDA data base for new or renewed loans
    • Ensure all aspects of compliance requirements are met
    • Back up to other Mortgage/Retail Underwriters and others as needed
    • Verify underwriting conditions are cleared prior to drafting documents and initial Closing Disclosure for all types of mortgage loans including secondary market and SBCP’s wide array of portfolio loans,
    • Ensure/verify HMDA information has been accurately completed.
    • Track closing packages ensuring we receive back in a timely manner.
    • Review all closing documents for completeness/accuracy.



    • Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Real Estate and/or similar field of education and/or 1-2 years previous work experience in a similar mortgage/financial setting
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact and communicate with a diverse group of customers and associates
    • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and remain calm while working in a fast-paced/deadline driven environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands in order to meet deadlines while remaining calm under pressure
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow up skills and the ability to proof own work as well as others.
    • Willing team player with the ability to put forth the extra effort necessary to make the office a successful operation including the willingness to put in extra time when needed and/or to attend required & recommended outside educational programs, seminars, etc.


    This position is a full time position with hours of 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday.
