We are seeking a detailed-oriented professional to join our Verona office as a Closing Assistant to our Residential Mortgage Division. This position will be part of a key team that is responsible for transitioning loans from the sales teams to the investor marketplace.  Responsibilities include performing pre-closing tasks, disbursing closed loans, uploading loans to our core system, delivering loans to respective investors, tracking trailing documents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control (QC) reviews of residential loans files in accordance with the Quality Control Program and accepted quality control standards
  • Remain current with regulation changes from governmental/state agencies, as well as policy changes from investors
  • Assist Closers with the preparation of the initial Closing Disclosures
  • Prepare files for disbursement after closing occurs and documents are received
  • Upload loan data to the bank’s core system
  • Obtain and correct documentation and any follow-up work necessary to complete files
  • Deliver all sold loans to investors in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitor pipeline of sold loans to ensure timely closing and timely delivery to investors
  • Monitor investor reports in order to ensure timely and accurate funding from investors
  • Serve as back up for Mortgage Loan Administrative Assistant as needed
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Real Estate and/or similar field of education and/or 1-2 years previous work experience in a mortgage function
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow up skills and the ability to proof own work as well as others to be able to deliver high-quality results.
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Self-starter that can manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, good typing skills and the ability and willingness to learn new programs and software
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and remain calm while working in a fast-paced/deadline driven environment.
